Paragraph Space tourism 1 | Bac essays | Bac Writing | anglais | English

Traveling onboard a spaceship and catching a glimpse of the cosmos must be a fascinating experience. It's a specific form of flight: the spacecraft itself, the special clothes to wear to breathe and travel inside the craft, the peculiar feelings that one may have. It's all fresh and different. A few years ago, it was something we could only have in our imagination. But it has been a dream come true, thanks to modem technology and research. However, because of the exorbitant price of the 2.5-hour flight, only a few fortunate individuals will pursue this venture and accomplish this dream. For this reason, Mr. Davidson argues that investing too much money on a short space trip is insane when millions of needy people around the world die of starvation, disease and exploitation. On the one hand, I believe he is correct because it would be more rational and rewarding to give a helping hand to poor people including victims of conflicts, diseases, and natural disasters than to have a quick glimpse of the space around the world. But on the other hand, by claiming that, after all, they are free to do as they want with their hard-earned money in order to fulfill their dream or to reach glory, we should defend those extremely rich people. Perhaps the compromise will be to wait a little while before it is made cheaper and more affordable by new technologies.
